| Brief Biography by 99.1 FM Radio Free Santa Clarita
Not all great bands start out the same contrary to popular
belief. While most struggling young performers get their start practicing
out of their parent's garage, that wasn't an option for the lead singer
of Black Cradel. "I don't have any parents, let alone a garage" explains
Jeff. He prefers only to give his first name in an attempt to retain
his annonymity. "I grew up listening to Lawrence Welk and playing
instruments that were not considered 'popular'". Even though the
instruments were not part of the favored rock genre, he still managed to
incorporate them into his act. "Yeah, chicks really don't dig the
ratchet or slide whistle at first, but once they see us on stage; that's
a different matter altogether!" |
Black Cradel got it's first big break overseas in Indonesia
playing for car dealerships and the grand opening of MacDonulds.
It didn't take long for an agent to recognize their talent. Soon
they were catipulted into a whirlwind of success! Not only did they
start playing at Bahmitzvahs, but they were also a big hit at the local
retirement center. The seniors, aged and diseased appreciated their
music- "I like them! Can you help me find my keys?" shouted one R.J.
Shankar, before being pinned down by security. You probably have
noticed that Black Cradel is more than one person, however, Jeff prefers
to be the mouthpiece of the band since he is the only coherent member.
On tour throughout the United States, their music is available all major
discount chains.
