They can hum if they are not secured tightly.  I have been told that dust
can get into the "windings" of the transformer and cause audible noise.  My
Synclavier II's power supply "sings" when I play back FM sequences.  The
output voltage is fine, however.  You may need to swap power supplies.

Since the SCSI connector for the keyboard cable (to

That used to happen on my Synclavier II also (when it was a stand-alone).
When it was rebuilt as a slave the noise went away.  However, I can hear
that kind of noise in my CLICK OUTPUT in my 3200 (w/Keyboard Interface).
Although, this is a VERY low qualtiy output, I don't really care (the
schematic proves it).  You are somehow getting "computer noise" in your
audio.  Bad connections, grounds, etc. would be the first culprit.  You
might have a component "going" that is allowing the noise to "leak" into
your audio.  The DDV voice cards should be VERY clean.  With all the
problems you have, you might need a complete re-cabling.
